ABOUT MY WORK
Nature, colour in its different intensities and the world of flowers deeply inspire me. Art making is my way of connecting to and sharing the beauty of the natural world and our every day life through my eyes and creative hand. When I paint, I am transported into a magical world- one of imagination, a place of the whimsical, the playful and the mystical. Through art, I bring my resonance with nature and my gift of working with colour together in such a way that it lights the spark of joy in the hearts of others.
My work is influenced by my indigenous heritage, my love of abstract art, the spiritual vibration of colour and the magic of nature. I am lucky to live in a place where birdlife, native plants and clean waterways are abundant. These things bring me peace and a sense of affinity with the land and the life-force it generates.
My work can be described as orderly, complex, multi layered and dynamic. My favourite mediums are acrylics and chalk paints. Chalk paint reminds me a lot of ochre in its consistency and application. Despite the many elements happening in my work, the most important thing to me is to create and convey art that feels full of life and celebration.
May the joy of colour weave its magic on your being and the spaces that you create.
With love and colour splashes,
Shamana Seery
